Springfield Township
Springfield Township retained D’Huy Engineering Inc. (DEI) to provide project planning, value engineering, project phasing, and construction management services during the design, bid, and construction phases for the new Township Municipal Complex.
DEI completed the initial site / construction phasing analysis of the complex, allowing for Library, Public Works Facility and the Police / Administration to remain operational on site during the construction period. An optional site / phasing analysis was completed by DEI which led to the decision by the Township to temporarily relocate the Library and Police / Administration offices to Township owned, off-site facilities.
Most significantly, DEI’s analysis indicated that this will result in an estimated reduction of the original 48-month construction timeline to a 24-month construction period resulting in substantial construction cost savings which would more than offset the temporary relocation costs.
As the construction process continues, DEI will maintain the Township’s goals, program requirements, and natural site features while respecting the adjacent residential properties. The new complex facilities will replace the existing facilities on the current site, necessitating a complex demolition and construction phasing schedule. Upon the completion of the Township Municipal Campus, the Springfield Township community will benefit from a state-of-the-art designed Library, Police / Administration & Public Works facilities.
