Montgomery County IU 23 Central Offices
D’Huy Engineering, Inc. was tasked with the responsibility to oversee the design, bidding and construction phases for reclamation of a five-story office building located in downtown Norristown for the MCIU which is sponsored by the 21 school districts that participate in the MCIU.

DEI’s constructability review, value engineering and bid strategies resulted in very competitive bids meeting the projected budget, which provided MCIU the opportunity to accept value added alternates such as site work, restoration of the building façade and other value added systems. DEI managed this multi-prime project and coordinated the fit-out to keep the project on the aggressive eight-month schedule.

The interior includes a state-of-the-art conference center to accommodate conferences and meetings of all sizes. The facility also boasts a professional office environment to enhance service deliveries to the schools of Montgomery County and the special needs population that the MCIU serves. The building features a flexible layout that allows divisions to be structured in a way that enhances client interaction and segregates the public functions of the organization.
